I can say that I've tested VUESCAN for Mac and this is a very solid and complete app in 64 bit that will run on Big Sur. Any and all replies welcome- even if it is just to comment on what I've written… If anyone knows of an update to SCAN ASSISTANT that will run on Mac and is 64 bit - please reply.
Like shooting in the dark or something- I'm amazed at the total lack of knowledge and interest on the part of everyone with whom I've spoken or eMailed concerning this issue. I have tried and tried for months to find someone at XEROX who knows when (or if) they will issue a 64 bit update to the very fine SCAN ASSISTANT program. Scan Assistant is only 32 bit and will not work on the latest macOS systems. Excellent printer and this came with the software SCAN ASSISTANT for Macintosh which is excellent too! BUT Apple has changed its requirements for all software- from late 2019 with macOS 10.15 Catalina and now with macOS 11 Big Sur - all software must be 64 bit. I have a multifunction Xerox laser printer: WC3225 with automatic document feeder. Really too bad because they make good products- but without software and service- no way. So pleased that a third party is offering a solution here! Very sad that Xerox doesn't care… Xerox has lost me as a customer forever - and all my associates / family as well. I will try this (it hasn't ever worked for me!) but basically have decided to purchase VUESCAN which is even better than SCAN ASSISTANT and can be used on all my scanners. No issues saving or opening the document. Selected the image area I wanted to scanġ0. Selected Xerox Workcentre 3225 under sharedĦ. I had the 3225 Mac ICDM file loaded I downloaded this file off of ģ. Our engineer was able to scan to the WC3225 using Image Capture on a Mac OS 11.2.2. I understand your concern and your request to have the Scan Assistant, but that application is not available. Here's the latest reply from Xerox in blue below: They tell me to use the ancient "Image Capture" program that comes with Mac- of course this is not a proper solution - if it had been, why would they have offered SCAN ASSISTANT 7 years ago? It seems I posted to a different discussion group by mistake… I finally got someone at Xerox to reply and they basically said they are not making SCAN ASSISTANT in 64 bit for Mac Catalina, Big Sur or beyond.
